Every first and second Saturday in July, the Fundaci\u00f3n Villa de Pedraza organises two magnificent classical music concerts in Pedraza de la Sierra, Segovia. These events, known as the Conciertos de las Velas, are at the heart of 29 years of the Villa’s recent history, reflecting its rich cultural tradition.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A Story of Evolution and Passion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception in 1993, coinciding with a Renaissance festival, the Candlelight Concerts have evolved significantly. Over the years, they have hosted numerous orchestras and musical groups, both Spanish and foreign, which have performed everything from classical and symphonic music to jazz and flamenco. The quality and talent of conductors and performers have been a constant, always accompanied by the affection and admiration of Pedraza.

Emblematic Scenarios<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three stages have hosted these concerts: the Ignacio Zuloaga Castle Museum, the Plaza Mayor and, currently, the Castle esplanade. In each of them, candles have been the main element, creating a magical and unique atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration and a Sense of Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of the concerts is largely due to the collaboration of the patrons, the inhabitants of Pedraza and their friends. The Candlelight Concerts have become a symbol of identity for the town, as emblematic as the C\u00e1rcel de la Villa or its Castle, and represent the most outstanding annual event of the community.

Memorable Milestones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An iconic moment took place on 6 July 1996, when 25,000 candles were lit throughout the Village, setting a Guinness World Record. This symbolises the essence of the concerts and has contributed to their universal recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Measures for an Unforgettable Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2017, controlled seating has been in place to ensure the safety and comfort of locals and visitors. This has improved accessibility and made it possible to fully enjoy the beauty of Pedraza during the concerts. Every year, free entrance tickets to the Villa are provided, as well as passes for local residents, guests of local establishments and concert-goers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Candlelight Concerts are not just musical events; they are a sensory and cultural experience that captures the essence of Pedraza, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in its magic and tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
